Crucian Farms: A Venture Design Agency — and Its Flagship Build in St. Croix

Crucian Farms is, first, a design agency — the studio of Reanne and Luke Wu, a couple who architect and scale future-ready ventures from zero to profitable. Their practice draws on decades of cross-disciplinary depth: five-star hospitality and luxury lifestyle, health, wellness, longevity and movement, and food and farming — layered with native fluency in web3 and AI. Every concept they build is designed end-to-end, from brand and culture to operations, technology, and capital structure.

The vertically integrated cannabis platform on St. Croix is their current flagship concept — a market at an inflection point, a jurisdiction with structural advantages, and a venture where hospitality instinct, agricultural craft, and frontier technology converge in a single P&L.

The Current Build

Crucian Farms operates from 9200 Estate Strawberry in Christiansted, St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. Under the Territory's Office of Cannabis Regulations (OCR) licensing framework, USVI law permits a single entity to hold cultivation, manufacturing, retail, and research licenses — and Crucian Farms is built to operate all four on one platform, capturing margin at every stage from seed to shelf.

Cultivation centers on sun-grown, bifacial mixed-light production: free Caribbean sunlight supplemented with precision spectra tuned per cultivar and growth stage, targeting roughly 2,300 pounds of premium flower per year at the full 1,000-plant flowering canopy — 800 pounds at the initial 350-plant build — across 22 harvest cycles with THCA-dominant genetics at or above 44% total active cannabinoids. Post-harvest, solventless manufacturing — ice-water hash and rosin pressing, no hydrocarbon extraction — converts trim and biomass into concentrates under GMP-standard protocols, with HOCl and ozone sanitation replacing chemical pesticides throughout.

Retail flows through Holy Smokes, our dispensary brand competing for one of only seven statutorily capped dispensary licenses on St. Croix, serving both the island's residents and 3M+ annual visitors. Beneath everything sits an owned 5 MW phased solar PV array with dual-storage battery capacity — sized for the planned scale-up from 350 to 1,000 flowering plants across additional bases and attached land — converting the Territory's $0.48/kWh grid rate, the highest in the nation, into a structural cost advantage plus virtual power plant income.

Our R&D program spans F1 hybrid seed development, triploid genetics, tissue culture propagation, and a proprietary cultivation operating system with spectral crop imaging. Crucian Farms is currently raising $30–45 million, base case $38 million, to build out the full platform.

Why "Crucian"?

A Crucian is a person of St. Croix — literally, a person of the Cross. The island's name means "Holy Cross" (Santa Cruz to Columbus, Sainte-Croix under the French), and just as a Rosicrucian is a person of the Rose Cross, a Crucian carries the cross of this island in their name. St. Croix's history runs through knights and empires — the Knights of Malta once held the island outright, and seven flags have flown over it as nation after nation passed through: Spain, Holland, England, France, the Knights of Malta, Denmark, and the United States. Crucian Farms is named for that heritage — rooted in the island, built by and for its people.
